Empire period residence

T
he Pays d’Auge is the area of Normandy known for its rolling fields, orchards, stud farms and a good glass of cider or pommeau depending on the time of day। Sheltered from the elements which can pound the coastline this is a land where the climate and soil are so good you can grow almost anything, where rivers cut through deep and twisting valleys and where the landscape is carpeted in apple blossom.
It is here, amidst the timber fronted houses, at the heart of one of the best designated cider producing areas that you will find the Chateau les Bruyères, an Empire period residence and 18th century manor house, now lovingly transformed into a charming hotel and gourmet restaurant।

Nestled at the edge of Chinatown, the New Majestic is a convenient 20 min drive from the airport, and just a two min walk away from the Outram Park MRT station. The city is located just five minutes drive from the hotel.
The “New Asia” style of hospitality finds one of its most rarefied expressions in the New Majestic, located in the heart of Singapore’s Chinatown। An open-concept period-inspired lobby shows the imaginative possibilities of this marriage of old and new, or “heritage chic”, as the hotel calls its particular design savvy, which also takes into account its period furniture dating from the 1920s to the 1960s.
ndividually designed rooms, 30 in all, continue the mix of vintage and designer furniture, customized baths, and can include private gardens and six-meter ceilings in attic-style suites। Five rooms have also been personalized by some of Singapore’s most influential talents from cinema, theatre and fashion. Every detail from bedding – the New Majestic calls it a ‘bedscape’ – to bathroom – freestanding copper tubs – has been re-imagined. Some rooms feature floor to ceiling mirrors; others feature aquarium-themed transparent bathrooms. Back downstairs, The Majestic Restaurant is a sleek reinterpretation of one of Singapore’s favourite Chinese dining rooms and serves modern Cantonese cuisine.

Best New Hotels 2007: Kempinski Hotel Mall of the Emirates, Dubai, United Arab Emirates

In the desert Disneyland that is Dubai, hotels are going up faster than you can say dishdasha. The new Kempinski Hotel is one that stands out amongst the considerable crowd – for sheer audacity alone. It has the world’s third-largest indoor ski resort; it’s attached to the biggest shopping mall outside North America and it boasts some of the largest guest rooms in the city. For the true ski tragic, 15 of the hotel’s deluxe rooms and suites are ‘ski chalets’ with views over the slope.

Guests who are health conscious can make use of the hotel’s Fitness Center during their stay, as well as the indoor swimming pools (one 216 square meter adult pool and a 15 square meter kid’s pool).

The hotel also has a spa, called “Serenity Spa”, which is one of Beijing’s finest. Relax, de-stress and re-energize here either by yourself, with your partner or with your friends.

You’ll find lots of treatment options available to keep you feeling fresh and beautiful.

The Regent Beijing also provides quite a few dining options as it features five restaurants and lounges. You can get a bit of a taste of home here since a wide variety of international cuisine is served in addition to traditional Chinese meals.

If you’re visiting Beijing this year, you will definitely want to be close to some of the city’s most famous sights and shops. For visitors who want to be right in the thick of things, The Regent Beijing Hotel is one of the best places to stay.

Think of being mere minutes away from the Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square and Wangfujing Shopping – “location” is one of the many reasons why visitors will want to stay at the Regent Beijing Hotel, found in the city’s historical center.

This gorgeous 500-room hotel is new to our collection, so we’re excited to share it with all of our readers who are planning on traveling to China this year!

Guest rooms at the Regent Beijing are of a contemporary design. We really like the simplicity here, which gives guests a totally unpretentious and modern atmosphere. If you want an excellent view, be sure to ask for a room that overlooks the Forbidden City. (We think that view is a true sightseer’s dream).

And speaking of sightseeing – you can enjoy the view into your very own room from the washroom, which has a fun glass wall that looks out into the bedroom.

Nothing makes or breaks a stay like a good wash – and with a luxurious tub and separate shower, guests can enjoy their bathing method of choice to rinse away the day’s stress. We also enjoy the plush bath robes and bath products available to guests in each room.

If service and VIP treatment are important elements of your hotel stay, then you won’t be disappointed at this Beijing luxury hotel.

The staff here pride themselves on their attentive and personalized service. And, guests who book either the Executive Room or Executive Suites receive some additional value during their stays such as: express check-in and check-out, daily evening cocktails (from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.), complimentary internet access, complimentary pressing of one suit, butler service and more.

For those of us living in the Northern Hemisphere, we all know that winter is upon us complete with fluffy snow and cooling temperatures. And although this drink isn’t a Chinese native, we could think of nothing else that could warm us up more this time of year than a China White.

This drink can either be a mellow accompaniment to a gathering of friends or if shot back can get the party going. Whatever your style…tis the season.

How to make a China White:
-1 part Irish Cream (Bailey’s)
-1 part White Crème de Cacao
-1 part Vodka

There two options for putting this drink together। You can shake all of the ingredients together in a cocktail shaker and strain into a long stemmed shot glass or layer the liquids starting with vodka, crème de cacao then Irish cream and get a neat effect। For a festive touch garnish with ground cinnamon। Serve and enjoy!
